Becoming Stronger Than Yesterday: How to Inspire Others with Your Strength + Struggles
Consistently throughout these past trying months facing the deepest fear and acceptance of loss I have ever known after losing my dad, I have been told, “You’re so strong.” Or, “You’re the strongest person I know.” I don’t say this to brag. My mom has too. And I’ll be honest, I am strong and I’m tired of being strong and I’m proud of my strength at the same time. Sometimes the “strong ones” struggle most when they feel anything but. What’s Your Life’s Legacy?
Death gives us a very clear reflection of our own mortality. In the past month since my dad’s passing, I’ve seen the beautiful gift that death is. For without death, what is life? It is the end that allows us to assess the means of living. If our human brains could comprehend eternity, we’d have no fear of the beyond or if the infinite or of that word...forever. Losing my dad has allowed me an exploration of my own life and the standards by which I live. Discover your standards and tap into your reign. Click to read the full blogspiration.
TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE NEW YEAR
Yeah, I know I normally write some fancy pants thing that sparks inspiration, wonder, merriment or challenges the soul, but today, tonight especially, I decided to bring some levity and light as we enter into 2021. 2020 has been a year of growth and expansion for all of us. This week alone has been a final stretch of growth for me personally in all ways. If nothing else, 2020 has taught me to ENJOY your work, your life, your family, your friends, and not take everything so freaking seriously. Because, in the end, it is the moments of both joy and courage that we seized and the moments of joy and courage that we missed that we remember the most. “Kim changed my life,” she said.
Last year, I was catching up with one of my former clients, Sylvia over brunch. Yes, mimosas and all. (Ah, I remember those. #Notforanother6Months ) She was recounting all the amazing things that happened since we worked together. And I was eating it up! She’d landed her dream job. She’d got a $12,000 raise. She was now being considered for another leadership role. She’d met someone...you know...special. 😉 Discover your ripple effect and tap into your reign.
